Sunday: May 26

This Sunday we’re looking at the second half of Romans 6: Freed from sin, Slaves to God.
The apostle Paul writes to a church that is accused of embracing sin. People are saying that a reliance on grace will result in ungodly living.
But Paul says the opposite is the case. If you’re under law, you’re slaves to sin. But if you’re under grace, you’re slaves to righteousness that leads to eternal life.
This is the objective truth about us: we’ve been freed from sin’s influence so that we will start to desire the things that God desires. We will start to hate the things that God hates.
Slavery to God is an image that we tend to want to sweep under the rug, but it’s a beautiful image when you understand that this is what we were made for, and the alternative is slavery to sin.
So this week, I pray that you’ll know whose you are, and that He would continually change you into his likeness!

God Bless,

René
