This week we continue our series on the Lord’s Prayer, entitled ‘Your Kingdom Come’. Alongside the petition for daily bread, Jesus encourages the disciple to pray for forgiveness, both their own and their power to forgive others (Matt. 6.12). Today we reflect on three points around this: the disciple is called to pray for forgiveness, not stand apart and condemn; we can be confident of forgiveness because of the moral record of Another; being forgiven is the secret to being forgiving.
