Today we conclude our series on the Kings of Israel (1 Kings 8.1-14).
Each week we have considered an aspect of their kingship: how Israel longed for a human king; the unfaithfulness of the first- Saul; David’s victories; God’s promise of a forever king in David’s line; David’s Death.
This whole history prepares us for the coming of the greatest human king of all. One who was not merely human, but a King who was and is the glorious Son of God in the flesh. The ultimate Temple of the living God.
Let us welcome his presence this Christmas.
