Your will be done on earth as in heaven – The Lord’s prayer.

This week is the 5th in our series on the Lord’s Prayer.

The first 3rd of the prayer in Matthew 6 is about God: his love, his power, his character. Who he is and what he’s done.
Prayer happens in relationship. And as we spend time with God in prayer we go deeper in our relationship with him. When we bring our concerns to him, listen for his voice, reflect on his word in his presence, our hearts become ordered around him: God becomes central again.

When we pray “Your will be done”, we embrace 2 parts of God’s will:
First, we confess that he is creator and rules over all things.
What does this mean for our prayers?

Second, we ask God that he would strengthen his people to do his will.
Why should we ask for this? Do we pray like this?

As Jesus’ apprentices, we want to build up God’s reputation. What’s one way you can do that this week?
