Jesus and Nathanael: A Glimpse of his Glory
Nathanael has a glimpse of Jesus’ glory- his presence throughout creation as the Son. Hearing, seeing, ruling (John 1.43-51). But he will see more than this. He will see heaven opened over Jesus, God’s power manifesting, miraculous signs, the lifting up of the Son of Man on a Roman cross to gather a people to himself. In this encounter we are led to anticipate Jesus of Nazareth to be the meeting place of heaven and earth. The man in whom the fullness of God will be manifest, satisfying every heart that embraces him by faith.
