Sunday, July 5

This Sunday we arrive at the end of the Lord’s Prayer: the Doxology, also know as the Word of Praise:

The kingdom, the power and the glory are yours forever and ever. Amen.

It’s not included in the gospels, but from very early on in the Christian church, this little section was added to the prayer, as a beautiful summary to everything else we’ve prayed for.

This morning, we’re going to focus on the themes of kingdom and sovereignty and the glory of God by looking at Psalm 115. As we study this Psalm, we’re going to answer these questions:

What about God makes him worthy of Glory? (v1-3)

What’s the alternative to giving glory to God? (v1, v4-8)

How do we bring glory to God? (v9-18)
